I would have enjoyed it immensely had I read it as a kid, but I am glad I read it as an adult for the first time. ' Very charming children/young adult's book. Doug got me a set of 4 Edward Eager books including Half Magic. ' This was a brief capitulation to nostalgia - I loved reading books about magic when I was a kid. My mother handed it to me on a day when I was kicking around complaining about being bored. ' I just finished reading this to my kids. Lots of adventure, female and male main characters (a must for my daughter, she needs to have at least 1 girl protagonist), easy reading.
